Around the time when the blabbering changes into more pronounced words, your baby will come up with a skill to speak one or two words properly. Remember that this change will be gradual and until the age of two, your baby will not be speaking more than fifty words. Currently, in all likeliness he's going to make his first consonant sound!

What you need to know

Look out for signs of speech by your baby’s facial expressions and his tone. He might be willing to speak something and will need your assistance to guide him in his little adventure. You baby will be catching a lot of trigger words and it is up to you how you help him improve his speech.
