Some of the things you can do at home to help your kid become independent include setting the table- just teach the child how they can drape the table and put down the plates. Meanwhile, even teach them how to hold knives, forks and spoons. While kids younger than 5 can hold spoons, it takes skill and learning to use forks and knives. Also, you can teach them to make meals, mix and stir food. This will make them feel more comfortable in the kitchen and allow them to be independent. Increase their confidence by teaching them how to dress on their own. Get them child-safe scissors to use and allow them to play board games or puppet games.
