At this stage, your little one might understand that most objects he encounters, in his everyday life can be associated with basic shapes. Depending on these shapes your kiddo might now start identifying and classifying objects. He might also start sliding or rolling the objects by observing it's surface. Your sweetie pie is over 6 years old and now he might be able to recognize different shapes of the objects as circle, triangle, square that he comes across daily.
What you need to know
At this point, you will notice that your kiddo starts observing all the objects around him. He might start drawing shapes on paper as well. You can also encourage him by asking him the shape of the objects in the kitchen while he is with you. You will also notice that your kiddo might not able to recognize the pyramid shape yet. But if your kiddo is not recognizing the shapes of objects then don’t worry, keep encouraging him. It is a great way to understand that your kiddo is developing his motor and recognizing shapes skills. It is also a positive sign that your kiddo is developing his literacy skills.
