At this stage, your child's development can be judged by how your child speaks, plays, learns, acts and moves. Your sweetie pie is 5 years old, and now is the time when your child gets much better at telling stories, understands and recalls the stories to some level of accuracy. Currently, he is becoming more used to comprehending picture stories.
What you need to know
At this point, you will notice that your child’s stories are probably longer and more detailed. The stories might be made up, or about things that have actually happened. They might have a theme, character or plot and contain actions and events in a logical sequence. It is a great way to understand that your little one is developing his story telling, cognitive, as well as memory skills.
What you can do
However, language development of your little one needs your help. Try to encourage him by taking part in story making and telling. Thus, it’ll be easier to work out who your child is talking about when he’s telling a story, and how the events in his stories fit together.
