You can ensure that this development of skills happen the right and proper way by providing your kid with a supportive environment.
What you need to know
Every child’s development is unique and complex. Although children develop through a generally predictable sequence of steps and milestones, they may not proceed through these steps in the same way or at the same time. A child’s development is also greatly influenced by factors in their environment and the experiences which they have at this age.
Two year olds love to explore sounds made by banging and shaking instruments and household items. They are gaining control over their voices and will join in singing the refrains of their favorite songs. They also enjoy dancing upon request, doing finger plays and acting out chants and songs. Children this age also pretend more during play.
Your child may lay the groundwork for reading and writing now. They enjoy reading books with you, and may independently look through familiar books and pretend to read. At this age your child can sing the A-B-C song, but they don't yet understand that the letter names correspond to specific graphic designs.
