Your child is now able to regulate her emotions in a better and mature way. She understands others' feelings are important and interacts with her friends and peers by engaging in cooperative play, sharing, empathizing, taking turns and being fair.
She will have feelings but won’t be overwhelmed by them. For instance, she will be sad if there is a conflict between her and her best friend, but will try to resolve on her own or ask for guidance from adults.
What you need to know
Emotional coaching will help her to focus more on positive feelings than negative feelings. Whenever your child is recovering from an emotional feeling or setback, listen and empathize with her. Then deal with the misbehaviour if needed and work on how to solve the problem.
