At this stage your child is capable of understanding the concept of taking turns during play and if your kid is doing this, then he deserves a pat on his back. If he is able to wait for his turn to come while playing then he has managed to learn self regulation quite successfully.
What you need to know
Self regulation doesn't only mean having control on yourself. It also means giving equal chance to others and let the other go first and wait for your own turn to come instead of pushing the line to be first. Do your bit to teach your child this by letting him wait for his turn at the breakfast table instead of fighting with the sibling to have the very first pan cake of his choice and in other instances as well.
