At this stage your cutiepie might start recognizing some basic colors. Recognizing colors and identifying color names is an important part of a child’s development. Early identification of colors will help your little one to create the cognitive link between visual clues and words.
What you need to know
Kids learn at their own speed, so don't be too concerned if your child doesn't know as many colors as someone else of his age. Give him a push on identifying colors from a group of toys, ask him to pick a green color toy or ask him the color of his t-shirt. But if you suspect a problem, talk to your child's doctor about whether you should have your child tested for color blindness, which is the inability to distinguish certain colors from the other.
