Your child is now able to solve simple jigsaw puzzles. Playing with puzzles improves her fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, concentration and the ability to think spatially (how objects fit together).
What you need to know
At this point, your little one can pick up each piece and attempt to find a spot for it. It is a great way to introduce shapes, letters, numbers, etc. to her. Invest in puzzles that are age appropriate (here puzzle pieces upto 8 in number) and bright coloured with interesting shapes. These will attract her to get started and explore. As she accomplishes solving the puzzles, clap and praise her efforts.
