Your bundle of joy is learning to be empathetic. He observes you taking care of him and imitates the same behaviour.
What you need to know
However, learning empathy is a gradual process for your child. He may show empathy at one moment and behave aggressively the next minute. This is absolutely normal. With repeated exposure to empathetic behaviours shown by you and elders at home, your little one will become aware and value other's feelings. Read to him books on different emotions and feelings. Show your child how you interact with others at home or outside. Learning to be empathetic takes time for some children. Keep your calm, with a caring relationship, you would have laid the foundation of empathy.
