It Is Time To Introduce Basic Toilet Training
It is a learning phase and so your child must not be forced into it. You can now start with a basic bathroom routine. Take your baby to the toilet at regular periods so that it reduces urinating in the diaper. Teach them to associate toilet activity with a particular word, such as “susu” or “potty”. Use these words whenever they are performing that particular bodily function.
There might be occasions when your child has not been able to keep control and soils his pants. But, such a situation must not call for a punishment or reprimanding. If your baby is scared of the situation, then toilet training becomes even more difficult to happen. Also, never ever try to shame your child in a bid to teach him. Most of the time, as parents we underestimate the self esteem of the child more than anyone else. And, shaming and scaring your baby will do more harm than any good whatsoever. So, as mentioned earlier, make a time, use gestures and words to make the little one understand. With time things will fall into place.
