Saying 'No' to Your Baby Without Actually Saying 'No'
Your baby understands 'No' right from the age of six months, but will act on it by the time he crosses 8 months. It is an interesting fact that unlike what your perceive, your baby understands most of the things you say, but they act little. If you feel you are overusing the word 'No', try using various other words. For example, if your baby is touching the switches, just exclaim danger and act horrified. Your baby may get a signal that he isn't suppose to do. Sometimes, babies purposefully doesn't take no seriously. In such a scenario, try different ways and words.
