Start With Very Short Periods of Tummy Time At First
Tummy time need not be for a long time. To start with, a minute or so will be good enough for your baby to explore their muscle strength. This will also strengthen your baby’s neck and help it become firm and less wobbly. There is no need to inflict tummy time on them for long periods at a stretch. Let them get used to the new position they have just discovered. Allow them to get comfortable with it. Watch their expressions while they are on their tummy. If they show signs of discomfort turn them over immediately.
Repeat this exercise a few times daily to start with. The position requires body strength. Even a minute at a time over a period of few days will help him develop an understanding of his own physical strength and a sense of balance. At no point should you over do it or impose it on your child. With time your child will adapt to rolling naturally.
