The First Shoes Do's!
If you have considered buying shoes for him, hold off until he takes his first step. Many parents believe that buying shoes will speed up the walking milestone. This is far from the truth; in fact, the hard soles will make it more uncomfortable for your baby as it restricts the flexibility of his feet.
If your baby has already started to walk, get him lightweight shoes with thin soles. Doctors recommend that your baby stays barefoot as much he can, even if he is up on his feet. Shoes can sometimes change the shape of your baby’s feet. If you want to protect his feet use socks instead.
