The Natural Sweetener You MUST Avoid
It is not a good idea to feed honey to your child in the first one year of their life. Honey could turn out to be toxic to your child as the baby’s immune system is not capable of fighting certain spores present in it. If you do need to sweeten their food, use refined sugar or natural fruit pulp. However, try to avoid introducing your baby to sweet tastes and getting her used to them, as it is not a healthy dietary habit in the long run.
Introducing kids to sugar at an early age is not a good idea. While sugar is one of the important minerals that the babies must be given in due time, excess of it or an early introduction are both harmful. Once the baby starts taking solid food, you as a parent must be careful that the sugar intake they have is mostly natural sugar and not in concentrated form. Often growing babies are attracted to sugary delights and in order to keep them quiet or to make them do something we bribe them with candies and other sugary treats without realising that these momentary victories are causing more damage than we realise. Excessive sugar can lead to stomach worms and will lead you to countless rounds to the paediatrician. Something that can easily be prevented if your child's sugar intake is regulated.
