Approaching Your 5-Year's Problems The Right Way
There can be two ways of approaching any problem a child is likely to face. One is a long time solution and one is an abstract solution that is only for the time being. At this age, it is better to start with something that is abstract and caters to things that are important for the moment. The solution that your child comes up with will give him the encouragement and confidence to do more on his own. (eg. Let’s plan, John -- how can we accommodate all your seven friends in your bedroom for the sleepover today?) The solution that your child comes up with will be for the moment and will boost his confidence immensely. Again, make it a habit, and slowly he will develop an eye for solutions to all his problems.
