Encouraging Your Kids To Make Good Choices On Their Own
Never criticize your child by saying, "Your are bad!" or "You are wrong!" Don't label him with these words. Instead, tell him, "This behaviour is not acceptable." Don't make judgements or offer solutions to your child upfront. Instead, ask him what would be the right way to deal with the situation or what choices are available. For instance, your child is confused about his art project as he's not not having enough ideas. Give him five minutes and let him come with the solution. He may say,"I will research on the internet or refer to the art book." You can guide him with his research and ask questions that will help him get ideas.
