Make Sure Your Kid Is Getting Enough Sleep
At this age, it is quite common that your child will want to fight sleep. She will try and do whatever it takes to skip her nap time, so she can play some more. As a parent, it is very important for you to establish a sleep schedule so your child gets plenty of energy to continue with her activities throughout the day.
1. Let your child get accustomed to a sleep routine so she has a schedule to stick to. This will help her get plenty of sleep to rest and recover in order to gain energy for the rest of the day.
2. If your child skips a nap, she will display cranky behavior as she might feel restless and tired. At times like these, swaddle your child and sway her in a hammock or in your arms so she is put into the zone, which will make her want to close her eyes for a nap.
3. A nap after a well-fed tummy sometimes helps. Try this out after you feed your child to see if she is comfortable going to bed after lunch. It is all about figuring out the best sleep schedule for your child, the one she is most comfortable with.
4. If your child is having a hard time trying to adjust herself with the sleep schedule, allow her to play for a while so she tires herself out. Once this is done, tuck her in for a nice nap. You can follow this the next day as well to help create a routine for her to get used to.
