Conjunctivitis is very common in kids. Treatment isn't usually needed for conjunctivitis, because the symptoms often clear up within a couple of weeks. If treatment is needed, the type of treatment will depend on the cause of it.

1) Try to look at the factors causing it. For example, dust, pollen, etc.
2) In severe cases, you can use antibiotic eye drops to clear the infection.
3) Irritant conjunctivitis will clear up as soon as whatever is causing it is removed. If possible, try to avoid the substance that triggered the allergy.
4) Any sticky or crusty coating on the eyelids or lashes can be cleansed with cotton wool and water.
5) Educate your sweetie pie to wash his hands regularly and do not share his pillows or towels with others. This will help prevent it from spreading.

If your child complaints of red eye, blurred vision or photophobia, then please seek the advice of a doctor as soon as possible.
