Why Native Language Should Be Spoken At Home Specifically?
Studies have shown that children who speak in their native language at home not only do better academically but are also better in English. Even if you cannot read your native language and can only speak in it, it is advised to use it as the language of communication at home. Do not worry about English; it will be taken care of by its own. Your child will get ample opportunities outside home to learn and practice speaking in English.
Multilingualism not only expands the brain but also opens the doors to experiencing so many new words, pronunciations, stories, experiences and culture for your child. If you silence your native language, your child will be deprived of so many experiences that will otherwise add to your child’s knowledge.
