Help Your Child Deal With Nightmares
There are disturbances that happen when your child passes from one phase of sleep to the other. Even though her eyes are open or half-open, she is still in deep sleep and will not remember this the next day. She may cry hysterically or mumble incoherently in her sleep.
Do not try to restrain her or jolt her awake. Just ensure that she does not hurt herself in any way. This may take up to half an hour. To prevent this occurrence, try gently waking your child up around 15 minutes before the time that the night terrors usually strike.
