Ultrasounds now: Should you have a 3D or 4D scan?

An Ultrasound Scan is a significant tool, which gives images of internal fetal anatomy. It is also called sonography because it uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of slices through the body.

The difference between a 3D and 4D Scan:

Every mother is excited to see her little one’s pictures before your baby is born. 3D scan ultrasound show photos of your baby in three dimensions while 4D scans have further improved technology and show moving 3D pictures of the baby. Live streaming of your baby’s images is the main difference among both the scans. Your curiosity level will surely be high when you get a chance to go for a 3D or 4D scan because those colorful pictures of your unborn baby will make you cheerful.

Ultrasounds now: Should you have a 3D or 4D scan?

One can actually get to know the known abnormality with the help of 3D or 4D scans. It helps doctors to plan the repair after birth.

These scans provide more and detailed information about your unborn baby from different angles.

You will get a recording of the scan on DVD which you can keep as a memory and show it your kid.

You will get the best pictures in the scan if you get this ultrasound done at around 28 weeks. Both the scans are considered safe because the images are made up of sections of two-dimensional images converted into a picture. But these scans should be performed by a professional.

Both the scans have their own advantages and disadvantages but 4D is more advanced as it gives you the benefit of 3D ultrasound but it is expensive than 3D.

The chances of getting the correct and more accurate information on fetal anomalies are higher in 4D scans. And last but not least, it is a pleasure to your eyes to see your baby's organs like eyes, nose, ears etc. moving before your baby is born.
