Moong dal soup is a great food item as it is yummy and highly nutritious. It is made from moong dal, which is a rich source of B Vitamins, protein, dietary fibre, zinc, copper, folate, magnesium, potassium and manganese. 

Ingredients: ¼ cup moong dal, ½ tsp freshly grated ginger, 1 tsp. ghee, ½ tsp cumin seeds, 2 cups water, 1 cup chopped vegetables such as carrots, lauki, pumpkin, spinach; salt, pepper powder, a pinch of ginger powder, ½ tsp kasuri methi, amchur powder, a pinch of ajwain seeds. 

Steps

 1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and fry the cumin seeds. Add the ginger and sauté for 2-3 minutes. 

 2. Add dal and vegetables into the pressure cooker. Add salt and fry them for a few minutes. 

 3. Next, add water and cook till you get 2 whistles. 

 4. Remove the lid, toss in the spice powders and kasuri methi. Simmer for some time.
