Besan Ki Kheer

Besan or Chickpea flour is a rich source of potassium, sodium, carbohydrates, dietary fibre, iron, Vitamin B6, magnesium and calcium. Besan ki Kheer is an easy recipe which will help you prepare a healthy and delicious dessert. 

Ingredients: 1 cup of chopped dates, ¼ cup of besan, 1 tsp of ghee, 2-4 tbsp of grated jaggery, 2 cups skimmed milk, ½ tsp cardamom powder, ½ tsp nutmeg powder, 4 sliced almonds and pistachios. 


 1. Soak the dates in hot water for about 15 minutes. Once the dates have softened, put it in a grinder along with ½ cup of milk and make a smooth paste. 

 2. Heat ghee in a pan and sauté the besan till it gives out an aroma. Add half a cup of milk and bring it to a boil. 

 3. Add the dates mixture and the rest of the ingredients and let the kheer simmer for sometime. 

 4. Taste to check for sweetness. 

 5. Remove from flame.
