Popular in North Indian households, this pakodas is not just a treat to the tastebuds but extremely nutritious as it carries all the goodness of vegetables. Vegetables are low in fat and are rich in sodium, potassium, dietary fibre, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 and calcium and iron. Here’s how you can make these healthy snacks at home in no time.

Ingredients: Half a cup of chopped cabbage, ½ cup of chopped cauliflower, one small carrot and capsicum chopped, 2-3 french beans chopped, 2 medium sized onions chopped, green chillies as per taste, one cup of chopped coriander leaves, half an inch chopped ginger, 2 cups of besan, ½ tsp of turmeric powder, ½ tsp of chilli powder, a pinch of hing, 1 teaspoon of ajwain seeds, ½ tsp of garam masala, salt to taste, oil for deep frying.


 1. Make sure all the vegetables you are using are finely chopped. Mix them together and add besan. 

 2. Add salt and all the spice powders. Add a little water so that all the vegetables are coated well with besan and the spices. 

 3. Roll into small balls. 

 4. Heat oil in a pan and lightly dump the balls in when the oil is at medium heat.

 5. Deep fry and scoop out.

 Serve with a tangy coriander-mint chutney. Try this recipe out today!
