Delicious Jeera Rice
Make rice more interesting and healthy with this recipe. Jeera or cumin seeds help in maintaining blood pressure, is good for digestion and prevents anaemia. Jeera rice is a quick and easy recipe.
Ingredients:Basmati rice (2 cups), ghee/butter/oil for frying, jeera (2-3 tsp), one bay leaf, chopped cilantro (2 tsp), green chillies (as per taste), salt to taste, cloves (3-4 pieces), one stick of cinnamon, green and black cardamom (2-3 pieces each)
1. Wash the rice and soak in water for about half an hour.
2. Heat oil/butter/ghee in a pressure cooker and add chopped onions, green chillies and spices. Saute for a couple of minutes.
3. Add the rice and pour enough water for cooking.
