Delightfully Delicious Beet Chops
Beetroots offer several health benefits as they are rich in Vitamin C, a great immunity booster. It also provides fibre which keeps your digestive system in good health. Beet chops is a Bengali recipe which is healthy and easy to prepare.
Ingredients: One large beetroot, 2 medium sized potatoes, a bowl of sooji, salt to taste, oil to deep fry, ¼ teaspoon poppy seeds, one chopped carrot, 3 to 4 green beans, a handful of green peas, ½ tsp cumin seeds, ½ tsp kalonji, ½ tsp mustard seeds, ½ teaspoon coriander powder, a pinch of cinnamon powder, ½ tsp white sesame seeds, ½ teaspoon cumin powder, ½ teaspoon chilli powder.
1. Boil the potatoes, peel and mash. You can also add in the carrots, peas, green beans so that they become soft after cooking.
2. Grate the beetroot and add in the cooked vegetables. Heat a tawa and sauté the cumin seeds, kalonji, mustard seeds. Blend into a mixture.
3. Add in this mixture to the potatoes and beetroot. Next, add in the coriander powder, cinnamon powder, white sesame seeds, cumin powder, chilli powder and salt.
4. Roll the mixture into balls or any shape that you like. Coat the balls with sooji and deep fry.
