Eggless Apple Cake
With the winters on their peak, fresh apples are readily available. Apples are a rich source of carbohydrates, dietary fibre, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and magnesium. Eggless apple cake is an easy recipe that allows you to use apples to bake a delicious and healthy dessert.
Ingredients: 1 medium sized apple cored and chopped, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1 cup maida, ½ tsp baking soda, ½ tsp baking powder, ¼ tsp. cinnamon powder, ¼ tsp. nutmeg powder, ¾ cup sugar, a pinch of salt, ¼ cup oil, 1 cup of water, 1 tsp. lemon juice, ½ tsp. vanilla extract.
1. In a bowl, mix the flours, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, sugar and salt and mix well.
2. Add the chopped apples, oil, water, lemon juice and vanilla extract into the flour mixture and mix well to get an even and smooth batter.
3. Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake at 180oCelsius for 40-45 minutes.
4. Remove from the oven and serve the cake warm.
