Healthy And Crunchy Murungaikeerai Adai

Murungaikeerai or drumsticks are a great source of iron. Murungaikeerai adai is a traditional Tamil dish and serves great as a healthy morning or evening snack.

Ingredients: 1/2 cup of raw rice, boiled rice, moong dal, chana dal, toor dal and urad dal, each. One cup of washed and cleaned drumstick leaves, an onion, a pinch of asafoetida, ¼ tsp of cumin seeds, ¼ inch of ginger, a couple of red chillies or green chillies (as per taste) and oil to roast your dosa.


1. Soak the rice and dals in water for about 5 to 6 hours. Next, blend them into a smooth dosa batter.

2. Saute the ginger, onions, cumin seeds, chillies and drumstick leaves and mix with the batter.

3. Heat oil in a tawa and make crispy murungakeerai adais or dosas.
