Meetha Pulao For The Sweet Tooth
Meetha Pulao combines the goodness of rice, saffron and milk and a whole bunch of whole spices. Rice provides Vitamin B1, aids digestion and provides energy to the body. Saffron aids learning and improves memory and milk provides iron, calcium and essential nutrients for growth.
Ingredients: 1 ½ cups of Basmati Rice, a few strands of saffron soaked in milk, 4 to 5 pepper corns, 3 to 4 cardamom pods and cloves, a handful of cashewnuts and raisins, a stick of cinnamon, one bay leaf and sugar.
1. Keep the rice soaked in water for at least 10 minutes. Drain off and half cook the rice with peppercorns, cardamom, cloves and the bay leaf. Keep aside.
2. Make sugar syrup by dissolving 4 tablespoons of sugar in half a cup of warm water. Pour it into the cooked rice.
3. Now cook the rice till it is done and top off with cashewnuts, raisins and saffron. Quick and easy, isn’t it?
