Oats have become a breakfast item in almost every household today. The reason quite obviously, is the high nutritional value of oats. Oats are rich in dietary fibre, carbohydrates, protein, potassium, iron, magnesium and Vitamin B6. Here’s an interesting recipe using oats that can make breakfast time more fun.

Ingredients: ½ cup quick cooking oats, ¼ cup sooji, ¼ cup besan, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1/8 tsp baking soda, 1 small onion thinly sliced, 1 small tomato chopped, 1 bell pepper chopped, 1 green chilly chopped, 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves, oil, salt and water. 

Steps: 

 1. Grind the oats in a mixer into a fine powder. Mix this powder with rawa, besan and salt. Add water to prepare a thick batter. 

 2. Heat a griddle, pour the batter in a round shape. Sprinkle the vegetables on top and let the base cook/ 

 3. As the base turns golden, drizzle some oil on to the top and sides of the uttapam and flip. 

 Healthy oats uttapam is ready. Try it out today and enjoy as you relish it!
