Poha is considered to be among the world’s healthiest foods. It is rich in iron and is a good source of carbohydrates which is essential for the body to generate energy. So if you are looking for a quick and easy recipe, poha cutlet is an interesting option. It delivers the goodness of poha in a different and delicious form and is very easy to prepare at home. 

Ingredients: 1 cup of thick poha, ¾ cup of mashed potatoes, ¼ cup of grated carrots, 4-5 blanched French beans, 1 small onion finely sliced, 1 tablespoon of chopped coriander leaves, ½ tsp of ginger garlic paste, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, ¼ tsp of chilli powder, ½ tsp of garam masala, ½ tsp aamchur powder, 1 tsp of sesame seeds, a pinch of sugar, 3 tablespoons of oil, salt to taste. 


 1. Soak the poha in water for about 3-4 minutes. Strain of the water and set aside. 

 2. Pressure cook the potatoes till they are soft. Remove and add the rest of the vegetables, ginger garlic past, masala powders, sesame seeds, coriander leaves, poha, sugar and salt and knead into a soft dough.

 3. Pinch out a small portion and shape into a cutlet shape. 

 4. Heat oil on a griddle and fry both sides of the cutlet till it is golden brown in colour. 

 Remove and serve with a tangy chutney. Try it out today!
