Pulao is a delicious and commonly made dish in most households. However, here is an easy recipe that allows you to cook this delectable dish at home in minutes. Also, this recipe uses fresh vegetables which make it highly nutritious too. Fresh vegetables are a rich source of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, folate, dietary fibre and potassium. 

Ingredients: 1 ½ cups basmati rice, 1 ½ tbsp. oil, 1 bay leaf, 1 star anise, 1 large strand of mace, 1 tsp shahi jeera, 3-4 green cardamoms, 6 cloves, 2 inch cinnamon, small piece of nutmeg, one stone flower, ¼ tsp. saunf powder, 1 onion thinly sliced, 2 green chillies slit, 1 ½ tsp. ginger garlic paste, handful of chopped mint, 1 ½ chopped vegetables, salt, 3 cups. 

Steps

 1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the whole spices. Next, add the onions and sauté till they are golden. 

 2. Add the ginger garlic paste, sauté for a couple of minutes and then add the chopped mint leaves and vegetables. 

 3. Cook for a while, add salt and water. Let everything come to a boil. 

 4. Add rice and cook till you get 1 whistle.
