Sweet Potato Tikki
Sweet potatoes are available in plenty during the winters. They are a rich source of nutrients as they are rich in sodium, potassium, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium, iron, Vitamin B6 and magnesium. Sweet potato tikkis are easy to prepare and offer all this nutrition.
Ingredients: 4 sweet potatoes, 1 tsp ginger-chilli paste, 2 tbsp. buckwheat flour, 1 tsp. chaat masala, ½ tsp. amchur powder, 1 tsp. lemon juice, 1 tsp. roasted cumin powder, ½ tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp garam masala powder, salt, and oil.
1. Roast the sweet potatoes till they are soft and cooked. Peel and mash the potatoes.
2. In a bowl, mix the mashed sweet potatoes with ginger-chilli paste, buckwheat flour, chaat masala, amchur powder, lemon juice, roasted cumin powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt. Knead the mix and shape out patties from it.
3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the patties till they are crisp and golden.
Your sweet potato tikkis are ready. Serve them to with spicy or sweet chutney!
