If you are fond of mangoes in any form, then here is the dish for you! Mangoes contain Vitamins B6, A and C, along with magnesium and fibre, making it an ideal food.

Ingredients: 1 Kg Small sour & sweet mangoes,75 gm Arhar  Dal, 1 small onion- finely chopped, 6-8 cloves garlic- roughly smashed, 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp mustard seeds, , Salt to taste, a pinch of Hing, 3 tbsp Mustard oil                                                           


1.  Peel mangoes and pressure cook with dal and salt along with 1 glass of water for 2-3 whistles.

2.  Cool and squeeze out the pulp.

3.  Heat oil and add fenugreek seeds, Hing, Turmeric powder, Mustard seeds and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add in the onions and garlic and sauté till soft. 

4.  Mix in the mango & dal mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce flame and cook for 45 minutes covered.

5.  Serve with Rice.
