Tasty Whole Wheat Flour Appam
Appams are originally from Kerala and are delicious. Make your snack time a little more fun with these delightful treats. This recipe uses whole wheat flour which ensures that you get dietary fibre, sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, Vitamin B6 and magnesium. Here’s how you can make appams at home.
Ingredients: 1 cup of atta, ¼ cup of rice flour, ½ cup of jaggery, a pinch of cardamom powder, a pinch of ginger powder, ¼ cup of freshly grated coconut, 2 ripe bananas, a pinch of baking soda, ½ tsp of coconut oil, a cup of water.
1. Blend all the ingredients except oil in a mixer and make a smooth paste. Set aside for 15 minutes.
2. Grease an appam chatty with the coconut oil and pour in the batter into each mould.
3. On low flame cook the appams till they turn golden. Flip sides to ensure even cooking.
