Have you tried serving the extremely nutritious dish called Gahat ka shorba? Gahat is a lentil that is a great remedy for cold, cough and body aches. It is rich in iron, proteins and calcium. 

Ingredients: Gahat (horsegram) – 400 gms, Mustard seeds – 3 gms, Hing – one pinch, Coriander root – 15 gms, Cumin seeds –  1 tsp, Onion – 2, chopped, Coriander seeds – 1/2 tsp,  Garlic cloves – 5 gms, Ginger – 5 gms, Oil – 1 tsp, salt to taste

Salt to taste

Steps:

1.  Heat oil. Add cumin, coriander seeds, chopped ginger-garlic, and onion. Sauté.

2.  Add hing.  When it starts releasing flavour, add roughly chopped coriander root.

3.  Sauté it and add water and gahat. Cook on a slow flame, till it is mushy.

4.  Strain it and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.
