Looking for a really nutritious breakfast recipe? Make him some soft Mallige Idlis. Idlis are loaded with carbohydrates from the rice, as well as proteins from the dal.

Ingredients: Raw rice – 4 cups, Urad dal – 1 ¼ cup, Sago – 3/4 cup, White aval (Pressed Rice) –1/2 cup, Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp, Salt – 2 tbsp

Steps: 1. Wash and soak all the ingredients together for a minimum of 2-5 hours. 2. Grind it to a smooth batter and mix in the salt. The consistency of the batter should be similar to regular idli batter. 3. Let the batter ferment for 8-12 hours until it doubles in volume. 4. Grease the idli plates and pour in batter filling. Steam it for 8-10 minutes. Serve with chutney.
